In March 2021, I woke up to severe pain emanating from my head, neck, and chest. Over the ensuing year and half I would develop more than twelve pain symptoms, including insomnia and chronic fatigue. I went from being an active mom and Creative Director with a demanding career to completely leveled by my symptoms. If I wasn’t Googling symptoms or seeing yet another doctor, I was struggling to cope with my symptoms and the health anxiety they caused.
Luckily, I happened upon the work of Alan Gordon and the Curable app. Though I hesitated with skepticism, I found mind-body pain recovery stories eerily familiar. Once I accepted that my symptoms were neuroplastic in nature or TMS (tension myositis syndrome), I dove into the practice.
My quality of life was not only restored but transformed.
Inspired by this incredible healing practice, I earned my certification in Pain Reprocessing Coaching and became a ICF-certified Professional Life Coach. I continue to advance my pain neuroscience education so that I can pass these tools onto those who continue to suffer with neuroplastic pain.
Most of my life I have been a writer and more recently, a filmmaker. Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. We all have stories and it is an honor to listen to my clients tell theirs.
I believe healing from chronic pain transforms lives. I empower clients to live a life filled with more joy and wellbeing.
I live in the Bay Area by way of Massachusetts where I earned a BA in English Literature from Stonehill College. I am currently at work writing a guidebook on healing from chronic pain. Stay tuned!
In my free time, I play in a women’s soccer league and enjoy time with my wife, three kids and our dog, James.
About Pain Reprocessing Therapy
Recent neuroscience research shows that most chronic pain, defined as pain that lasts more than six months, is caused by the brain misinterpreting safe messages from the body as dangerous. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is a system of neuroscience techniques that retrains the brain to properly interpret these signals thus disrupting the cycle of chronic pain. Rather than manage chronic pain symptoms, PRT is applied to eliminate pain.
